27 CONSTELLATIONS(नक्षत्र) - THE ORIGIN...

ANK JYOTISH is the base of the predictions made by Astrology, as the whole Indian Astrology is based on numeric calculations. Janm Kundali or Horoscope is nothing, but the position of the stars and planets at the particular time when the person was born..... The UIniverse is believed to be a circle and is divided into 360 ansh, 360°. The Janm Kundli has 12 houses/bhavs in the birth chart, in this way, each house occupies 360/12 = 30° each. Each house or Bhav of the Janm Kundali has a respective Planet Lord which is reffered to predict different aspects of that person's life. Like for eg, if we want to know about the married life of the person then we study the position of the planets in the 7th house. In the same way, if we want to know anything about his mother, we will have to refer the position of the 4th Bhav. The minutest details of a person's life can be predicted by making the detailed study of these 12 bhavs of the Janm Kundli. The 12 Bhavs include everything which we want to know about the person

Also, there are 12 rashis, which is the effect of the 27 Nakshatras/Constellations. The Universe is divided into 27 parts(group of stars), called Nakshatra. The name of these Nakshatras were given after the most prominenet brightest visible star in that group, called the Yogtara. The 27 Nakshatras were further subdivided into 4 charans for minutest study of the person's life. The 27 Nakshatras cover 13°20’ each and 3°20’ for each charan. The 27 nakshatras, each with 4 charan, give the number 108(27* 4 = 108), which is the number of beads in a japa mala, indicating all the elements (ansh) of Vishnu. The 4 charans of each Nakshatra have a particular sound vibration, which is given below, on the basis of this the name of the child is given.

In this way, if we know the name of a person then we can also know that which Rashi does he belong to, by seeing the first letter/sound in the chart.
For eg, someone's name is Dhananjay, then we can see in the above chart,
The first sound/ starting letter in Hindi language is Dha/धा.
This sound in found in the पूर्वाषाढ़ा Nakshatra, 2nd charan.

It is clear that the person must have been born when the Poorva shadha Nakshatra 2nd charan was clear in the sky. Then we will see in the Rashi chart, what is the Rashi for Purvashadha Nakshatra. Hence, we will find the Rashi is Kumbh(Aquarius in English). This study of Rashi is very useful and we can improove our life to a great extent if we see whats about to happen in the coming days. We can make best use of the good times and prevent the bad incidents.

Some learners believe there are 28 nakshatras in total, one more Nakshatra Abhijeet to be one among them. But,if we study in detail then we find that Abhijeet Nakshatra does not have an independent origin of its own, its just a part of others, so it cannot be used for calculations.

As per our Hindu beliefs, Moon fell in love with the most beautiful daughter of King Dakshan and asked him her hand. The King reaily agreed but he became tensed who will marry his other daughters. He offered Moon that he should marry will all the 26 others too, then only he can marry. In this way, they both agreed and the marriage was done, but, Moon loved to spend time with only one of his beloved queen ROHINI Nakshtara, which is also the exaltation point for Moon. Other wives (Nakshtras) complained to their father (King Dakshan), repeated requested to Moon by King was unable to change Moon's nature, finally King Dakshan got angry and cursed Moon, to diminish. The Moon started to blacken and started diminishing in size. Since the consequences of this was not good, all Devas intervened and requested King Dakshan to withdraw the curse. King was given assurance that Moon will visit all his wives, since the curse cannot be revoked completely, King Dakshan said Moon will regained his strength for half a month, that is the reason Moon transits all 27 nakshtras in a month, completing the zodiac orbit causing Amavasya and Poornima by waxing and waning in size.
